Giovanni Pasqual

Giovanni Pasqual è restauratore e pittore. Sin dall’età infantile è forte la fascinazione per materie quali gesso, caseina, calce, olio di lino, sabbie, che esperisce con curiosità nei laboratori artigiani veneti. Fonte d’ispirazione costante per l’artista sono la Natura  e i suoi processi, Venezia, città a lui cara, la Laguna e i paesaggi rurali che fanno parte della quotidianità. Alla luce di questi temi, realizza opere non necessariamente guidate da un’intenzione precisa, ma sempre frutto di una appassionata, viva, curiosa e libera ricerca imperniata sul supporto tra la materia, il colore e il loro rapporto dinamico. I suoi lavori si rivelano già durante la fase di creazione, a comporre un enorme puzzle: ogni colore viene apposto nel modo giusto, strato dopo strato, per consentire alla materia di svelarsi ed esplorare con tutto il suo potere, come in una sorta di processo alchemico ammantato di un fattore magico. L’osservatore  viene traghettato in questo universo con autenticità e rassicurazione, alla luce dell’intenzione, sempre viva da parte del Maestro, di evocare e rassicurare con la bellezza. Il suo curriculum è ricco di eventi e manifestazioni artistiche di rilievo. Nel 2022 ha partecipato come ospite alla Biennale di Venezia con l’opera “Black Sky”.

Giovanni Pasqual is a restorer and painter. Since his childhood, he has been strongly fascinated by materials such as plaster, casein, lime, linseed oil, and sand, which he explores with curiosity in Venetian artisan workshops. A constant source of inspiration for the artist is Nature and its processes, Venice, a city dear to him, the Lagoon, and the rural landscapes that are part of his daily life. In light of these themes, he creates works that are not necessarily guided by a specific intention but are always the result of a passionate, vivid, curious, and free research centered on the interplay between materials, color, and their dynamic relationship. His works reveal themselves during the creative process, composing an enormous puzzle: each color is applied in the right way, layer after layer, to allow the material to unveil itself and explore its full power, like a sort of alchemical process enveloped in a magical factor. The observer is transported into this universe with authenticity and reassurance, thanks to the Master’s ever-present intention to evoke and reassure through beauty. His curriculum is rich with significant artistic events and exhibitions. In 2022, he participated as a guest at the Venice Biennale with his work “Black Sky.”
